Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - Monday, Jan 19

Here are a some of Dr King's powerful, treasured  words --

The most urgent and persistent question of human existence is this:  how can I help other people?

Our lives begin to end
The day we become silent
About things that matter.

Hate begets hate, violence begets violence.

The ultimate measure of a man
Is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience,
But where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.

We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny.  Whatever effects one directly effects all indirectly.

Peace.  Best wishes to all, Jim

The Michigan Senate scored an average failing grade of 48 percent, with the House receiving a narrow passing grade of 60 percent. While the Scorecard generally showed that Democrats voted to maintain or strengthen environmental protections- more disturbingly - it showed Republicans generally voted to weaken or eliminate environmental protections.
